Rampage Jackson takes on Rashad Evans in UFC 114

Monday, May 24th, 2010

In case you didn’t know, arguably the most anticipated fight inside the Octagon this year will take place on May 29.

That’s right, Quinton Rampage Jackson and Sugar Rashad Evans, after all the trash talking, will finally meet each other at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the pay per view event simply dubbed as, UFC 114: Rampage vs. Evans.

A lot of fans have been clamoring for this one ever since both Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans became opposing coaches in ‘The Ultimate Fighter 10.’ In the show, UFC fans witnessed just how much both fighters hated each other, helping the 10th season of the show to become it’s most watched season, EVER. (Of course, Kimbo Slice starring in the said show also helped…)

UFC President Dana White has also confirmed that, if either Rampage Jackson or Rashad Evans wins their epic showdown in Vegas, that fighter will get a shot at Mauricio Shogun Rua for his UFC light heavyweight championship belt. How’s that for one heckuva’ main event on the 29th eh?

”I did commit to the winner (of UFC 114) getting a title shot,” UFC President Dana White stated.

Although every single UFC fan knew that this fight between Rampage Jackson and…

Dana White thinks Anderson Silva is a Jackass

Monday, April 12th, 2010

And that’s merely days after he proclaimed Silva as the best pound for pound fighter in MMA today.

So why the change of heart? Well, after the mess Anderson Silva pulled last Saturday in UFC 112: Invincible, White was not pleased. Sure, Silva retained his belt in Abu Dhabi, but the way he spent most of the fight taunting his challenger Demian Maia and staying away from any kind of contact, watching the entire fiasco was like watching paint dry.

White said he was embarrassed by the way Anderson Silva defended his UFC middleweight title. And if you saw UFC 112 last weekend, you can’t really blame the disgruntled UFC president for feeling exactly that.

Silva dominated Demian Maia for the first two rounds before spending the next three backpedaling and posturing. Silva’s antics not only frustrated White but referee Dan Miragliotta as well. Miragliotta even warned Silva in the fifth round that if he keeps it up, he would deduct a point.

”This was a big event for us tonight, it was a really big moment. The whole last three weeks of my life have been leading to this event,” UFC president Dana White said right after the fight. ”The people in this country, including the media, have really gotten behind this thing with support like I have never seen anywhere. I’m really embarrassed.”

”He [Silva] feels that he doesn’t owe the fans an apology,” White…

Dana White doesn’t want to hump Kimbo Slice

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

seth-edward-oneal.jpgApparently, that’s what the UFC president wants you to think.

In case you didn’t know, Kimbo Slice is a part of the Ultimate Fighter 10 and UFC president Dana White has already made it public that Kimbo will fight inside the Octagon no matter what happens in the show and despite the fact that Kimbo lost his first fight in it.

And since Kimbo Slice already lost to a fat-ass like Roy Nelson before Dana White made it public that he’s going to the UFC anyway, it is only normal for some people to think that Kimbo is getting some sort of ‘’special treatment” from the UFC president.

kimbo_sliceWhen White was asked if it was true, his reaction didn’t surprise me at all.

”That’s bullshit,” Dana White said speaking to the claim made by some of the other fighters on the show that Kimbo had some sort of special treatment, including having his entourage, including his wife and kids, at his fight.

”His wife and kids were never there. His manager was there.”

”Let me tell you what, I’ve never seen such fucking crybabies in my entire life as the heavyweights. It’s unbelievable. The only difference with Kimbo and the other guys on the show was that if Kimbo made it to the UFC, his contract would be bigger than the others.”

As for the guy who beat Kimbo Slice in Ultimate Fighter 10…

Kimbo Slice Spoilers in Ultimate Fighter 10

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Apparently, somebody leaked out some info on Kimbo’s little adventure in the latest season of the Ultimate Fighter.

Yes, everybody’s looking for some info on what exactly happened to Kimbo Slice in the Ultimate Fighter 10. In case you didn’t know, he’s trying to go legit now as he try to climb inside the Octagon through Dana White’s Ultimate Fighter reality show. Unfortunately for Kimbo, it didn’t go very well.

According to some rumors, Kimbo Slice lost by brutal knockout in the first round of his fight and then storms out of the house afterwards. This is according to a forum post from a Wes Sims, a fighter who was also competing in TUF 10.

kimbo_sliceUnfortunately, Sims (or some random dude posting as Sims…) didn’t specify if Slice lost to Roy Nelson or not.

There’s also this one rumor that claims Slice winning his first fight in the house, beating Roy Nelson via split decision. The call was very controversial and for the first time in TUF history, UFC president Dana White was offered the power to overturn the judges’ decision but decided…

Kimbo Slice begins to hype up Ultimate Fighter 10

Friday, September 18th, 2009

seth-edward-oneal.jpgAt 35 years old, he doesn’t have much of a choice but to hype up anything that gives him a second chance.

At Ultimate Fighter 10, that is exactly what Kimbo Slice will have, a second chance. For all ya’ll who didn’t know, he’ll be a part of the upcoming reality show looking to prove once and for all that he can go toe to toe with the best of MMA.

Well, Kimbo Slice did a fine job in proving that the last time he was inside a cage when he was scheduled to fight Ken Shamrock in an EliteXC pay per view event. For those of you who missed it, Shamrock got injured, so they had to put somebody in to replace the MMA veteran.

kimbo_sliceThey got virtual unknown Seth Petruzelli and just when everybody was betting on Kimbo to have an easy fight, Petruzelli knocked him out cold with what looked like a love tap.

That loss was so devastating that Kimbo never got inside the cage since.

Almost a year later, here he is trying to vindicate himself by singing himself up for a chance to be an ”Ultimate Fighter” in the UFC. It won’t be easy for him though, especially since he’s already 35 years old.

”You’ve got to be well-rounded to be an ultimate fighter,” Slice said. ”I can’t just come with one dimension; I’ll get smashed. So I gotta suit up. I’ve gotta learn some ground shit. I’ve gotta learn some wrestling shit. I’ve got to prepare for mixed martial arts and get ready for it.”

”I’m the only guy going in the house with a…”

Kimbo Slice will be in The Ultimate Fighter Season 10 in hopes of salvaging what’s left of his MMA career

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Too bad he’s quitting the boxing gig even before he got the chance to split Manny Pacquiao in half eh?

YouTube sensation Kimbo Slice wants to salvage what’s left of his MMA career. After his war of words with UFC President Dana White in the past, he has finally acknowledged how big the UFC is to the sport of MMA and he wants to be a part of it.

You read it, Kimbo Slice is jumping on the UFC bandwagon and his only shot of finally setting foot inside the Octagon is by winning the Ultimate Fighter 10. Yes, the guy is actually entering the tournament for a chance to win a contract with the UFC. And since the guy really doesn’t have anything going for him right now, any contract would do.

Kimbo Slice”I don’t think there’s anybody I’ve talked more smack about than this guy,” UFC President Dana White said of the street fighting sensation while he was a guest on the Carmichael Dave show.

”I said the only way this guy ever gets in to the UFC is through The Ultimate Fighter and here he is, I gotta respect that. I tell you what, [on the first day of shooting] he walked in the gym, let me tell you what he’s pretty serious. He wasn’t messing around, he wasn’t joking, he wasn’t laughing.”

With the way his stint with EliteXC turned out, you wouldn’t be laughing either.

”A lot of people were offering him a lot of money and he wants to be…”

Kimbo Slice to Enter Boxing and Kill Manny Pacquiao

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

As much as I would love to see that, Kimbo won’t be having that opportunity… YET.

Unless of course, Manny Pacquiao decides he has what it takes to go toe to toe with the heavyweights. And while Kimbo Slice hasn’t really made his transition from MMA to boxing official, when he does, Pacquiao better watch out.

In case you didn’t know, Internet sensation Kimbo Slice has been contemplating on making the move from mixed martial arts to boxing after failing to come up with a deal with Strikeforce, the group who obtained an option to purchase his contract from Pro Elite.

Kimbo SliceAccording to Slice’s manager Mike Imber, Strikeforce wanted his client to fight for less money.

”They wanted us to fight for less,” Mike Imber said. ”I wouldn’t say dramatically [less], but there were just a lot of moving parts in the contract. Once you start moving one, they all kind of got moved around. It just didn’t work out, I guess.”

Kimbo Slice, whose real name is Kevin Ferguson, was released on May 13. Since then, he and his people have been weighing their options on what to do next. That probably includes a stint with the WWE.

”I can’t give you any updates right now, but when I do you’re going to be very impressed and shocked,” Imber said. ”I can tell you his MMA career is far from over. We have a bunch of other options, Japan and others. Now that we’re…”

Ken Shamrock to fight Kimbo Slice this Saturday

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Wait… Shamrock? He’s still fighting?

Apparently he is, and this Saturday we’ll see him go toe-to-toe against Kimbo Slice in an EliteXC extravaganza. No, we have no idea what EliteXC is either other than the fact that its one of those media giants trying to cash in on the UFC’s success. As far as Shamrock is concerned, BOY, I hope this guy is insured.

After becoming one of the best fighters in the UFC, Ken Shamrock has been reduced to a shell of his former self. He has this pathetic five-fight losing streak since making his debut in the EliteXC and signing himself up for a fight against a guy like Kimbo Slice is just dumbfounding.

For what it’s worth, Shamrock is confident as always. And despite losing five straight fights in a cage, he believes he will be the first one to beat Kimbo this Saturday night.

”I’m gonna be too fast for him,” Ken Shamrock said. ”He’s gonna eat my punches and kicks.”

Quite confident huh? And for some reason, he’s not worried about the fact that during this five-fight losing skid he’s been having, he failed to survive past the very first round in each of them.

WOW.

”The only time he knocks anyone out is when they get tired,” Ken Shamrock said. ”I don’t respect his power or grappling ability. I’m gonna go in there and whip [him].”

It is no surprise that Shamrock is once again confident that his mastery of…

Hulk Hogan and Kimbo Slice to star in a Kids’ Movie?

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

seth-edward-oneal.jpgWha?!?

For a guy like Hulk Hogan who clearly has the hots for his own daughter that he got himself a girlfriend that looks like her, and Kimbo Slice who just plain looks weird, coming up with a kids’ movie that stars both of them was just unthinkable.

Who in the right frame of mind will choose to have these guys star in a kids’ movie anyway? Stereo Vision Entertainment, Inc. (OTCBB: SVSN) has, announcing that the undefeated (and scary) Mixed Martial Arts star Kimbo Slice will co-star with the somewhat sick Hulk Hogan in a 3D kids’ comedy, ”Kung Fu U.”

Kung Fu U” in 3D is a Disney-type comedy about of a bunch of nerds and misfits that are sent away by their wealthy parents to the Brentwood Academy (a.k.a. Kung Fu U) to learn the finer arts of self-defense.

It’s a heart-warming romp where the rather weathered warriors come to the rescue for the kids, and in turn, the kids rescue the warriors’ seemingly lost souls from what had been their eternal apathy.

It’s a feel-good story that aims to reminds us that we’re…
