Yes, they’re still talking about Brett Favre coming back this 2009 NFL Season with the Minnesota Vikings

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Wha?!?

My sentiments exactly. After going through off-season surgery and rehab then working out at the local Mississippi kiddie land to test his arm strength, Brett Favre has decided to stay retired because the day-in and day-out mental and physical grind of the NFL game are just too much for him.

However, there are reports claiming that some players from the Minnesota Vikings have been making bold statements that they will retire Favre’s number at the end of the 2009 NFL football season. Hell, some Vikings are even claiming that the deal to get Favre playing for them come September is already done.

Is this just a ploy by the Minnesota Vikings franchise to continue fucking with their rivals from Green Bay, Wisconsin?

brett_favreWhatever the case may be, only Favre can tell us for sure. The problem is, we probably won’t buy anything that comes out of his mouth anyway with the kind of track record he has when it comes to his retirement from the NFL.

Favre, who had shoulder surgery in May, experienced soreness in both ankles and his left knee during his private workouts in Mississippi. The pain would not subside and worsened as he continued to prepare for a potential 19th NFL season, which Favre considered proof that his health was too precarious to be trusted for a 16-game season.

Favre, who is nearly 40, has already told everybody that…

2008 NFL Football Week 12 Betting Picks and Tips

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

It’s Week 12 and Kerry Collins is still playing like a hotshot quarterback ten years younger than his actual age.

And after 11 weeks into the 2008-09 NFL football season, we learned that Collins is really not that young anymore although he sure plays like the next best thing in football, NFL referees in Pittsburgh can screw sports gamblers of their money and Tony Romo can win Dallas a Cowboys – Redskins rivalry game even with a broken pinkie.

And just like the last few weeks, Week 12 starts early on a Thursday night, with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals getting it on at Heinz Field. The Steelers are somewhat struggling lately with Ben Roethlisberger still favoring his partially separated shoulder. Despite that, the Steelers still managed to win two of their last three and I don’t expect these guys to lose to the Bengals who have lost all but one game this year.

Peyton ManningPittsburgh Steelers by seven.

Next, we have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers facing the winless Detroit Lions. Buccaneers running back Earnest Graham is likely lost for the season following an ankle injury he suffered in the their win over the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday. The loss of Graham is particularly bad timing for the Buccaneers, who released a healthy Michael Bennett last week to make room on the roster to activate Cadillac Williams from the PUP list. STILL, with only the lowly Lions…

Seahawks host 49ers on NFL Monday Night Football

Monday, November 12th, 2007

And just because there’s nothing here that’ll make you watch this game besides the fact that it’s the only football game you’ll see on Monday…

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren started his NFL career with the Niners. He he… YEP, it’s one of those storylines that’ll hopefully be worth your while when these two pathetic teams play against each other for the first time this 2007-08 NFL football season on Monday night.

And while most of us will just be glued to that epic first meeting between LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony in the NBA this season, the Seattle Seahawks will probably be just whooping 49ers ass. Again.

Matt HasselbeckThe last time the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers faced each other, Niners QB Alex Smith was blindsided by Seahawks defensive tackle Rocky Bernard that gave Smith a rather painful separated right shoulder injury that took him out for two games before his team lost six straight.

Now that Alex Smith is bound to face the same Seahawks defense, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback claims he has no ill feelings towards the Seahawks.

”It’s a rough game,” he said. ”You’re going to have injuries, things like that are going to happen. In no way do I think it was…”

If Belichick’s Spying Cameras screwed the Jets, these Spying Cameras ALMOST Killed the Seattle Seahawks

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

My my, talk about a season of controversial cameras eh?

With the 2007-08 NFL football season kicking off with the ’spying camera scandal’ that the New England Patriots found themselves in the middle of, perhaps it is only fitting that we have yet another incident involving spying cameras mid-season.

Yes, and this time, the Seattle Seahawks are the victims. And while the New York Jets probably lost their first game of the season because of Belichick’s spying cameras, these cameras that were on the Seahawks’ asses ALMOST got them killed. Now I don’t know about you but this spying camera thing probably has gotten a little too far. Hee hee…

Seattle SeahawksIn a Sunday night when the New Orleans Saints finally scored their very first win of the season, beating Seattle 28-17, the spying cameras that plagued the league when it kicked off last September attacked again.

TWICE, the officials stopped the game after the overhead cameras directly on top of the football field dropped as if it had Seattle Seahawks players on target. The first one almost smashed Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck when he exited his team’s huddle to talk on the sideline with Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren.

And as NBC went to a…

Oakland Raiders will decide on starting QB Thursday

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

seth-edward-oneal.jpgIf the overall No.1 draft pick just signed his name on that contract, then we wouldn’t have the confusion we have now right?

Instead, the Oakland Raiders still don’t have the answer on who will man that spot behind center in the 2007 NFL football season. And did I mention we are merely days before that season gets underway?

In what was originally a three-way triple threat match for the WWE heavyweight… er… starting QB job in Oakland, it now boils down to two, Daunte Culpepper (Raiders, pick this guy already…) and Josh McCown. (Holy f#ck!ng C#r!st!.. Nooo…)

daunte_culpepper4.jpgYep, it’s between both of them now with Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin already giving up on his prized rookie, JaMarcus Russell, after the former LSU Tigers QB missed the opening days of training camp.

As for Andrew Walter, the statuesque I – can’t – move – even – if – it – kills – me QB has been relegated to quarterback No.3 in coach Kiffin’s QB depth chart.

The Oakland Raiders will take on the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday for the final preseason game of the… well… preseason and…

Can Tony Dungy ever win a Super Bowl?

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

Seven straight seasons.

Yep, Tony Dungy was able to lead his NFL Football teams to the playoffs for a remarkable seven straight seasons now, going on eight with the Indianapolis Colts this year.

He is as respected as any man in the game, both as a person and for his coaching ability. And yet, not only has he never won a Super Bowl, he has never reached one. And not only has he never reached one, but there are those who whisper he never will because he lacks the one thing a Super Bowl-winning coach needs, the killer instinct to push aside everything else.

What’s the problem? The man lacks emotion.

The cameras never catch coach Dungy shouting his lungs out. Cameras never catch coach Dungy talking to his players in a manner Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells does. And yep, cameras will never catch coach Dungy cursing under his breath.

Is the guy just too nice to be an NFL Football head coach?

Tony Dungy is still going through a personal tragedy, the suicide of his 18-year-old son, James, last year, Dec.22. However, in spite this tragedy, Dungy was able to turn it into a social cause, reaching out to those trying to prevent…

Seahawks put Jay Cutler to the Test Sunday Night

Sunday, December 3rd, 2006

Baptism of fire. Jay Cutler will have exactly that on NFL Sunday Night Football.

Denver Broncos Mike Shanahan has already given veteran quarterback Jake Plummer the boot. Rookie Jay Cutler will take over the offense and this weekend, Cutler will make his QB debut as a starter on prime time, NFL Sunday Night Football.

You can just imagine the pressure Jay Cutler is on right now. And yeah, you can bet your ass Jake Plummer is just waiting for Cutler to commit mistakes, one after another. Quarterbacks like him and Drew Bledsoe, are not fond of these kids taking their jobs after one bad game.

The move enables Broncos coach Mike Shanahan to join the infamous ”Super Six” of NFL Football coaches.

Shanahan had long been a prominent partner within the active coaching elite that also included Marty Schottenheimer, Bill Parcells, Joe Gibbs, Bill Cowher and Mike Holmgren. They are the top six among active coaches in wins, top 17 overall. Going game after game after game with the same quarterback, though, was threatening to ostracize Shanahan from pooh-bah status.

If Jay Cutler can live up to Shanahan’s expectations, then he will truly bring back the name of Mike Shanahan among one of the best NFL coaches ever. If he fails, Mike Shanahan will be nothing more but a joke.

The Seattle Seahawks will come in riding high from a win over…

Seahawks host the PACK on Monday Night Football

Monday, November 27th, 2006

The Seahawks are not at full strength, the Packers are struggling, Monday Night Football is their chance for redemption.

Yep, the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers collide at the house that running back Shaun Alexander built as Brett Favre and the rest of the PACK travel to Qwest Field. The Seahawks will have their all-star running back for the game but the problem is, they STILL will miss their QB, Matt Hasselbeck.

Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselbeck have been sidelined with injuries for much of the season. Alexander, who returned Nov.15, suffered a broken foot which had sidelined him for seven weeks, while Hasselbeck has missed the last three starts for the 6-4 Seahawks because of a sprained knee.

The injured quarterback has already been practicing but Seattle Seahawks head coach, Mike Holmgren doesn’t want to take the risk yet. Well, they don’t need it yet anyway. Even with a mediocre 6-4 stand, the Seahawks STILL leads the pathetic NFC West division.

On the other hand, Green Bay Packers quarterback, Brett Favre, will come into this NFL Football game with a rejuvenated love for football. He has discovered the…

Will Alexander and Hasselbeck return for the Seahawks?

Friday, November 17th, 2006

As of press time, these guys just might Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren claims that both of his injured starters, NFL Football MVP Shaun Alexander and franchise quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, could be ready to play the 49ers on Sunday at San Francisco.

Shaun Alexander has been cleared by his doctors for practice. This is the first time the Seattle Seahawks running back was cleared by his doctors for practice in eight looong weeks, this is in spite the broken bone in his left foot, the same bone that sidelined him for six games, may not be fully healed.

returning_seahawks.jpgIf you ask me, why risk it? Why put a hobbling running back in there if you have Seneca Wallace playing like a solid QB and a solid back at the same time? And yeah, why change the roster makeup now if you have the team rolling with three straight games?

MRI results were due last week. But Holmgren said that because Shaun Alexander has no pain, doctors are going to let him test the foot on the field no matter what the pictures show.

”The diagnostics of the injury doesn’t compute with what the player is saying,” Mike Holmgren said.

As for his OTHER injured superstar, Mike Holmgren said that his injured quarterback…

NFL Monday Night Football pits Raiders VS Seahawks

Monday, November 6th, 2006

Yep, it’s Monday Night Football once again, and yep, the Oakland Raiders have another chance in shocking the world.

The Oakland Raiders will come in NFL Monday Night Football coming off two straight wins in this NFL Football season. They shocked the world when they scored a win over rookie sensation Matt Leinart and the Arizona Cardinals. Then, they shocked the world again when they came up with another win over the defending Super Bowl champions, Pittsburgh Steelers, the following week.

On Monday, these Oakland Raiders will hope for a trifecta, scoring their third straight win in this NFL Football season against the Super Bowl runner-up, Seattle Seahawks.

And yeah, if the Oakland Raiders were to beat the Seattle Seahawks one time, this Monday would have to be the best chance to do it. After all, the Seahawks are STILL without franchise running back, Shaun Alexander. Shaun Alexander, being the new cover boy of that somewhat cursed video game, Madden NFL Football, is still out with injuries. (Like most Madden cover boys since they started using actual NFL Football athletes.)

And as if that wasn’t enough, they also lost franchise quarterback…
