2009 College Football Week 11 Gambling Guide

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

seth-edward-oneal.jpgIt’s Week 11 and we have Florida trying to extend a nation-best 18-game winning streak.

Yep, it has been that crazy for the Florida Gators this 2009 NCAA college football season. Can they remain on top of the BCS after this weekend? They have the South Carolina Gamecocks next and I have a feeling the Gators will continue pounding on the rest of the field.

The South Carolina Gamecocks will be led by quarterback Stephen Garcia, who has thrown for 2,094 yards, including three 300-yard games. The 6-2, 219-pound sophomore has thrown 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. Garcia ranks 10th in the SEC in passing efficiency and yet he squandered chances for signature moments, such as the final offensive snap at Georgia.

Don’t expect these guys to stop the Florida Gators from winning their 19th straight game.

tcu_horned_frogsWe also have some other games that should prove to be profitable for ya’ll, like this one between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Hawkeyes are looking to improve their current BCS standing, a win over Ohio State will do just that.

The 4th seeded Iowa Hawkeyes will continue to rely on the services of quarterback Ricky Stanzi, despite throwing five interceptions in their last win against Indiana.

Iowa remains fourth in the BCS for the second straight week, their highest ranking in school history. The Hawkeyes are also the highest-rated Big Ten team in the BCS. Iowa is 78-43 in this decade (.644), one of the best winning percentages in school history. The Hawkeyes were 77-40-4 (.652) during the 1980s.

But will you pick them over Ohio State..?

Week 4 Picks for the 2009 College Football Season

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

seth-edward-oneal.jpgFor those of you still whining about USC’s loss to Washington, get over it because this could be the week that’ll get your money back.

Well, we’re not promising you anything but since Week 4 of the 2009 NCAA college football season will definitely give all of us who lost a lot of dough on that USC game a fresh start, it doesn’t hurt to hope for the best.

And hope for the best we will indeed as Week 4 on the college gridiron should give you some interesting games for you to enjoy and hopefully, win some cash out of it too. For starters, we have the Mississippi Rebels, ranked No.4 in the Associated Press poll, getting their first big test of the season Thursday night when they face the South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia. The Rebels are coming off a rather easy 52-6 win over Southeastern Louisiana last Saturday.

usc_trojansHowever, while that one was a breeze for Mississippi, the same couldn’t be said this week since they only have four days to prepare for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Fortunately, the Rebels are healthy again after an outbreak of flu last week that affected almost a third of the roster. Let’s see if they still have something left in the tank this Thursday.

Next, we have the Virginia Tech Hokies hosting the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday as the Hokies will ride on their momentum as they gun for their third win in four outings. The last time the Hokies were on the field, the Nebraska Cornhuskers limited them to two first downs and 55 yards for the first 28 minutes of the second half before bouncing right back up with two plays, Tyrod Taylor’s 81-yard pass to Danny Coale that put it at the Nebraska 3, then Taylor’s 11-yard strike to Dyrell Roberts with 21 seconds left for the win over the stunned Cornhuskers.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Hokies will play the…

2008 NCAA College Football Week 12 Betting Picks

Friday, November 14th, 2008

Week 12 in college football continues.

You read it, the 12th week of the 2008 NCAA college football season continues this weekend with a whole bunch of good games beginning with the No.1 team of the nation, Alabama.

The Alabama Crimson Tide look to remain perfect and on track for a spot in the BCS title game while trying to avoid a third consecutive loss to visiting Mississippi State Bulldogs this Saturday. A season after finishing 7-6 and second-to-last in the SEC West Division, Alabama (10-0, 6-0) clinched its first division title since 1999 with an emotional 27-21 overtime victory at LSU last Saturday. The win kept the Tide atop the national rankings and BCS standings, ahead of fellow unbeaten Texas Tech.

Alabama will try to avenge losses to Alabama Crimson TideMississippi State (3-6, 1-4) and struggling Auburn, both at home, before facing Florida in the SEC title game Dec.6 in Atlanta. Alabama lost 17-12 at Mississippi State last season after falling 24-16 at home to the Bulldogs in 2006. The Tide has not scored an offensive touchdown in its last three meetings with the Bulldogs, including a 17-0 victory in 2005.

I have a feeling things will be a little different come gameday.

The fourth-ranked Texas Longhorns look to improve their chances of competing for the conference title when they visit the struggling Kansas Jayhawks next. Three straight wins over teams ranked No.11 or better gave Texas (9-1, 5-1) control of its own destiny at the end of October. However, a…

2008 NCAA College Football Week 3 Betting Picks

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Week 3 officially starts on Thursday.

Yep, the 2008 NCAA college football season continues this Thursday as we prepare for a huge, huge, HUGE game between the USC Trojans and the Ohio State Buckeyes over the weekend.

Exciting huh? But before that college football game that just might rock the world as we know it, we have more than a few games for ya’ that might just be worth your while.

Let’s start with the game between the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. North Carolina won their first game, beating McNeese State 35-27, as they will try to carry Rutgers Scarlet Knightsthat momentum going up against the hungry irritated Scarlet Knights.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights got clobbered in their first game against Fresno State, losing 7-24. That’s why we won’t be expecting these guys to lose again. Pick Rutgers to win by 14 points.

Friday’s game features the game between 14th seed Kansas Jayhawks and the 17th seed South Florida Bulls. Both teams are starting the season strong with both teams winning both of their first two games.

This should be an exciting match and although South Florida has a strong football program, they are still a Cinderella team. Pick the Kansas Jayhawks winning by at least seven points.

Week 3 continues on Saturday with the Georgia Bulldogs visiting…

Big Week 1 in the 2008 NCAA College Football Season

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

We are only days away from football season people.

The 2008 NCAA college football season begins on August 28, Thursday, as the brand new college football year kicks off with a massive 14-game schedule. Yep, it has been a while since we had football and the NCAA is kicking it off with a bang.

There are three exciting games that you should not miss next week, beginning with the 23rd seed Wake Forest Demon Deacons visiting the Baylor Bears to mark the start of this year’s wars on the college gridiron.

Last season proved that the South Carolina Gamecocks2006 success the Wake Forest Demon Deacons put together was no fluke and that the program will continue to be a contender in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Sure, the success was not as substantial but still, with the Demon Deacons putting together a nine-win season, they were able to hang in there atop the Atlantic division race.

With a host of defensive players returning and a majority of the skill players on offense, head coach Jim Grobe will look to take the next big step this year. ”We’ve been in the position before where we’ve come into August without a very good feel about our starters,” coach Jim…

2007 NCAA College Football Week 4 Betting Picks

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

Week 4 of the college football season will have huge games on Saturday. Of course, the favorites to win the BCS title will be on display too.

Let’s start with the defending champions, Florida Gators. The Gators take on the Mississippi Rebels for a Week 4 face-off in the 2007 NCAA college football season. The Gators are still perfect and I don’t see any reason why they won’t remain perfect after Saturday.

The 3-0 Florida Gators have a high-powered offense engineered by head coach Urban Meyer. His offense is one of the best in the nation and having a defense which is as good makes them on helluva’ football team.

The Gator offense, last Saturday, simply crushed Tennessee when they racked up a season-high 554 yards en route to a 59-20 win. That’s the school’s highest point total in a conference game since they destroyed Kentucky, 59-31, seven years ago.

The Florida Gators are riding high with momentum and the Mississippi Rebels won’t have a chance come game time. Pick the Gators to win -13.5.

Next up are the LSU Tigers, the No.2 ranked team in the nation. They take on the…

Will They Find it Easy in the Conference of the SEC?

Monday, August 7th, 2006

When you talk about the SEC Conference, you’re talking about some of the best defenses in NCAA College Football.

Ya’ think the Florida Gators of the SEC Conference are stingy with their 18.8 points against average? Well last year, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Tennessee Volunteers, the Auburn Tigers, the LSU Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide were all tougher.

Of the 12 teams in the SEC, six allowed opponents less than 19 points each game.

It looks to be a battle between the Florida Gators, the Bulldogs and the Volunteers for dominance in the East Division. The West will see Auburn and LSU fighting it out, with Arkansas certainly in the mix.

The Mississippi Rebels of the SEC Conference West is on the rise while the Kentucky Wildcats should also improve their records from last season in the East.

JaMarcus Russel of the LSU Tigers may be the best QB in the conference and his backup, Matt Flynn, is also a solid commodity while Auburn’s field general Brandon Cox, already a fine leader, seems ready to take the next step.

In the East, the signal calling position is more a work-in-progress for most…
