Yep, his six-year contract is up and he wants some more dollars from the Patriots.
With the New England Patriots missing out on playing for another title at Super Bowl XLIV, this is probably not the right time to ask the organization to bend over and pay you more dollars.
Well, it seems that didn’t stop Vince Wilfork from bitching about how his team placing the franchise tag on him would be a ‘’slap in the face.” While the Patriots haven’t ‘’slapped Wilfork’s face” yet, the six-year vet is daring the Patriots to do just that with the way he’s been demanding shit lately.
”I want a long-term deal or I want to be free. Point blank,” Wilfork, who plays defensive tackle for the New England Patriots, said during an interview on Boston sports radio station WEEI.
”I didn’t like that six-year deal but I did honor my six-year deal,” Wilfork said, referring to the deal he signed with the Patriots back when he was a rookie. ”Now that the deal is up, it’s time for me to move forward, with the Patriots or without the Patriots.”
”[The franchise tag] is decent money for most people out there. What I do, it’s OK. But I don’t look at myself as an OK player. Like I said, it’s just basically a slap in my face and an insult to me to basically tell me I’m an OK player.”
”There’s a short window of opportunity for me to make…”

For the first time ever, the Pro Bowl will come a week before THE big game, as this year’s Pro Bowl kicks off Super Bowl week with a bang.
Yes, the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl will now come before the Super Bowl and this year, the best players from both the AFC and the NFC will play at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Florida for this year’s annual showcase of the league’s premiere talent.
This way, football fans will be able to further build their anticipation heading to Super Bowl XLIV and as far as this year’s Pro Bowl starters are concerned, both teams’ rosters have some familiar faces.
Leading the pack for the AFC squad is Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning. Other selections include Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson, Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson and Colts teammate Reggie Wayne.
Dallas Clark, who also plays for the Indianapolis Colts, was also voted in for the Pro Bowl to play tight end, starting tackles will be the Dolphins’ Jake Long and the Broncos’ Ryan Clady. Starting guards for the AFC will be the Patriots’ Logan Mankins and Alan Faneca of the New York Jets.
Faneca’s teammate Nick Mangold will be the AFC’s starting center…

After they took down Tom Brady and the mighty Patriots last weekend, you can no longer question what these guys can do anymore.
The 2010 NFL playoffs continue with a huge AFC divisional playoff game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts. The Ravens are fresh from eliminating NFL Comeback Player of the Year Tom Brady and his Patriots, this time they are looking to take out the reigning NFL Most Valuable Player of the Year Peyton Manning and his Indianapolis Colts.
A tall order? I’d definitely say so. I mean, Peyton Manning just won his fourth league MVP trophy, his second in a row. And as long as Manning is leading the offense, the Colts can score with the best in the league. But if there’s a team that can come up with an upset win at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, it’s the Ravens.
Fresh from their 33-14 win over the New England Patriots, the Baltimore Ravens offense will once again rely on their running game led by their three-headed monster of Ray Rice, Willis McGahee and Le’Ron McClain.
Rice had a huge game last week with 159 yards and two touchdowns on 22 rushing attempts against the Patriots. The Ravens are hoping for the same against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend. Rice…

From 2001 to 2010, they have been a title contender. But after such a humiliating loss to the Ravens last Sunday, is it time for the Pats to start rebuilding?
In case you missed it, yes, the Patriots are out of the 2010 NFL playoffs after the Ravens came in Foxboro and simply whip the Patriots’ asses right in front of the faithful Patriots crowd.
It was humiliating to say the least, especially for a team like the New England Patriots that has become the measuring stick by which most teams in the NFL compare themselves with to determine if they finally have what it takes to play with the league’s elite.
Last Sunday, the Patriots wasn’t anything like that as the Baltimore Ravens simply dominated the Patriots right from the get go. Heck, the Ravens were already up seven merely 17 seconds into the game after Ray Rice ran up the middle for 83 yards.
When it was all said and done, Ray Rice had 159 yards on the ground and two touchdowns, leading the Ravens to a 33-14 whipping of the New England Patriots to advance to the…

Wild card weekend continues this Sunday.
That’s right, the 2010 NFL playoffs continue this Sunday with a huge AFC wild card round match between the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots. In case you didn’t know, the Patriots lost Wes Welker for the playoffs last week, setting the stage for the Ravens D to take advantage.
This playoff matchup between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens is the only playoff game that won’t be a rematch of last week as the Jets and the Bengals, the Eagles and the Cowboys and the Packers and the Cardinals have all played each other last Sunday heading to their wild card matchup.
The first meeting between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens back in Week 4 was as exciting as ever as the Patriots barely edged Baltimore, 27-21. That game left both teams at 3-1 and provided an exciting quarterback battle that might have gone the other way had Derrick Mason not dropped a pass that would have led to a fourth-down conversion.
Joe Flacco threw for 264 yards, but needed nearly 50 completions to get there, numbers indicative of Baltimore’s mark of 7.1 yards per completion. Ray Rice eclipsed the 100-yard mark on the ground in just 11 carries, a number that helped bolster an impressive rushing mark of nearly five yards per carry.
The Ravens will likely have to use that ground game against…

This is why coaches should rest their starters during the week before the playoffs.
The 2010 NFL playoffs are here and the New England Patriots are coming in without the guy who just broke his own franchise record for receptions with 123 catches this season. And for a guy who just racked up 1,348 receiving yards, his loss could be devastating for the Patriots’ hopes of another Super Bowl title.
We’re referring to Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker who was carted off the field in their 34-27 loss to the Houston Texans. He was injured when he tried to plant his foot after making a catch, tearing both his anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament.
The New England Patriots were suppose to be the team nobody want to face in the postseason but with Welker out, I’m no longer certain if that adage is still true. Welker is Tom Brady’s safety net whenever things go bad inside the pocket. With him out, Brady would have to heave it downfield more often than usual to Randy Moss and we all know how much opposing corners like that.
You want more bad news? Tom Brady is banged up, as he’s always been the last few years.
”It’s football and guys go down all the time, on our team, on other teams, and it sucks, it’s unfortunate,” Patriots tight end Benjamin Watson said. ”When you are a team, you have 10 other guys and when one goes down, the other guy fills in and the train keeps on moving. That’s what we’re going to try to do.”
Well, it’ll be a little harder to fill the shoes of a…

But for how long?
In case you haven’t noticed, the New England Patriots haven’t been Patriot – like lately this 2009 NFL football season. They are just barely leading a football division they should’ve been dominating with both the Dolphins and the Jets breathing down their necks.
Last Sunday though, the New England Patriots may have discovered an even bigger issue they need to address. There’s some sort of dissension going on withing the mighty Patriots contingent and as far as some Panthers are concerned, Randy Moss is in the middle of it.
Despite losing to the New England Patriots last
Sunday, 20-10, two of the Carolina Panthers secondary, specifically Chris Gamble and Chris Harris, felt the need to call out Moss, saying that the Patriots wide receiver wasn’t giving his all for his team last Sunday.
”We knew he was going to shut it down,” Chris Gamble said. ”That’s what we wanted him to do. That’s what we did. He’d just give up a lot. Slow down, he’s not going deep, not trying to run a route. You can tell, his body language.”
”I know everyone who plays against him, they can sense that. Once you get into him in the beginning of the game, he shuts it down a little bit.”
Rumors claim that this was the result of Moss getting sent home…

Are you ready for arguably the biggest game of the week?
Week 12 of the 2009 NFL football season culminates with arguably one of the biggest games you’ll ever get to see this year.
That’s right because on Monday Night Football, we have the New England Patriots taking on the unbeaten New Orleans Saints in a game that is arguably THE game to watch this week. The Saints are trying to stay undefeated against a Patriots team that came close from finishing the season unscathed a couple of seasons ago. In case you haven’t guessed it yet, this one is going to be good.
Tom Brady helped the Patriots beat the New York Jets last week in what was a nice confidence –
booster before facing another highly decorated opponent on the horizon.
After a 3-0 start, the Jets entered this game as the wounded lion, and it was up to the New England Patriots to pounce. They did just that, coaxing rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez into four turnovers three of them interceptions.
Now the road gets much tougher, as the Patriots play in another hostile environment against a New Orleans Saints team looking to keep its perfect season unblemished. The Saints have shrugged off a slow start defensively, shutting down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win their 10th straight game after yielding a long touchdown drive to open the faceoff.
The Saints’ 10-game winning streak is the longest in…

We have a good one for you this week.
Everybody knows that the intensity of the 2009 NFL football season picks up after Thanksgiving and the games we have for you this weekend proves why.
First, we have MVP candidate Brett Favre and the rest of the Minnesota Vikings playing hosts to the Chicago Bears. The Vikings are on a three-game winning streak and since the Bears virtually don’t have anything going for them at this point of the season, this game gives the Vikes the perfect opportunity to extend that streak to four straight wins.
Since the Minnesota Vikings welcomed Brett Favre in mid-August, the team has gone to great lengths. The Vikings are averaging more than 30 points per game, they have the consensus top running back in the league in Adrian Peterson and the future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre, who is playing better at 40 than he ever has.
On the defensive end, the Vikings are no.3 against the run, allowing just 85.5 yards per game with defensive end Jared Allen ranking second in the NFL with 10.5 sacks.
As for the Chicago Bears, they are on a streak of their own, a losing one. While the Vikings have won three in a row, the Bears have lost three in a row. Jay Cutler and the rest of the Bears have also lost five of their last six games, definitely not something you want to be in the middle of at this point of the season.
In the past 30 days, the Chicago Bears have been lit up by…

Don’t worry, we got you covered.
Yes, it’s Thanksgiving and since it’s customary for the NFL to bombard you with not one, not two, but THREE games for you to enjoy while you stuff yer mouth with that turkey, we’re gonna tell you which team to bet on as we kick off Week 12 of the 2009 NFL football season.
And in case you’re wondering, the Detroit Lions will once again host a Thanksgiving Day game. Go figure. This year, the 2-8 Lions take on the 6-4 Green Bay Packers and just like the last time the Lions hosted a Thanksgiving Day game, they’re going to get their asses kicked all over Ford Field for the entire world to see.
The Green Bay Packers, who have won their last two games, will have to compensate for the losses of the two Pro Bowl players; cornerback Al Harris and linebacker Aaron Kampman, as both players will miss the rest of the season because of knee injuries.
The Packers will plug in either rookie Brad Jones or Brady Poppinga to replace Kampman at left outside linebacker in their 3-4 scheme. Jones started for Kampman, who…
