The season only gets interesting as we enter the month of October.
The 2008-09 NFL football season resumes this Sunday for Week 5 and after four weeks of football, we found out that the Packers made a huge mistake in giving up on Favre, Al Davis is really not fond of NFL coaches and Terrell Owens is the same Terrell Owens that we knew back in Philly.
And as we enter the fifth week of NFL football, as always, we have some good games for you that may very well earn you a dollar or two that will finally let you take your girl out to McDonalds. Let’s start with this game between the Carolina Panthers and the assholes who took out Tom Brady for the rest of the year, the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Kansas City Chiefs, thanks to the
woeful AFC West, can still end up tied for second best if they win over the Panthers this Sunday. They are 1-3 after four games and if the Chargers, who are currently sitting behind division leaders Denver Broncos, lose for some reason to Miami, they will let the Chiefs catch them behind the Broncos’ asses.
Unfortunately, the Carolina Panthers are on the verge of their best five-game start since opening 5-0 en route to their only trip to the Super Bowl in 2003. Yep, these guys have been on fire on the field lately…

Now that is the start any champion would like to have.
In case you haven’t heard, YES, the 2008-09 NFL football season has finally begun with the Super Bowl XLII champions, New York Giants, winning the first game of their new campaign.
It was a dramatic start to the brand new season. Retired Michael Strahan introduced his former New York Giants teammates to the field with a huge replica of the Super Bowl trophy right smack in the middle of Giants Stadium.
When the game started, the
Giants did looked like champs, jumping on the Washington Redskins right from the get go. The defending champions still had the edge too, not to mention that smothering defense that nailed New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to the ground faster than 50 Cent would Paris Hilton.
It was a perfect start for the Giants’ field general as well as Super Bowl XLII MVP Eli Manning scrambled near the goal line to score the first touchdown of the brand new season. Oh yeah, seems like the Manning bloodline, all of a sudden, had legs and young Eli showed just that, rushing for the first score of the football year.
Last season, the New York Giants were a miserable 3-5 at…

Well, playing poker in general anyway.
With the 2008 World Series of Poker underway, it is probably safe to assume that poker is hot. The poker industry is still on an uphill climb and more and more people are getting into the game.
This doesn’t mean, however, that the rules you use in Las Vegas are the same rules being used on the other side of the Earth.
Any serious poker player knows that confusion of the rules in the middle of a poker game (or even worse, in the middle of a hand), can cause a great deal of frustration, not to mention a mountain of chips.
Thanks to the Federation Internationale de Poker Association (FIDPA) and the International Poker Rules (IP Rules), this problem should no longer be a cause to tilt. Professional poker players Marcel Luske and Michelle Lau established FIDPA and IP Rules to make sure that there is an international set of rules and standards for poker games.
The IP Rules consist of 80 rules and also incorporates the Tournament Directors Association’s 40 rules.
Standardization should promote fair play, consistency and clarity, particularly since tournament directors are required to…

This way, at least Manchester city will have a new star if Cristiano Ronaldo moves to Real Madrid right?
It seems the 2008-09 English Premier League season just keeps getting interesting by the minute eh? And for some reason, all the big news have come from the city of Manchester so far.
Why? For one, the city has TWO big football clubs. They have the defending English football champions, the Manchester United Red Devils, and that other one simply dubbed as Manchester City.
However, after these developments
that could land them one of the best Brazilian footballers to ever play the game in Ronaldinho, the team simply tagged as Manchester City could change faster than Paris Hilton can take off her panties.
You read it, new owner and former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra wants the 28-year-old Ronaldinho. This is after Ronaldinho’s Spanish football club, Barcelona, have made it public that the Brazilian phenom is no longer included in their plans for the future.
You see, Ronaldinho has been slowed down by…

Probably to stir up hype, organizers of the WSOP opted to delay the start date of the 2008 WSOP Main Event final table.
You read it people, just like the Super Bowl, the championship table will be delayed once the 2008 World Series of Poker gets going on May 30. This will give poker players the opportunity to research the competition, probably increasing the skill level of the very table where you can win that WSOP bracelet.
STILL, while this break will lead to a lot of coaching and research on the tendencies of each poker player sitting around the final table, it still comes down to the basics and that’s the need to make educated decisions for a whole lot of cash.
”This will make for a different dynamic at the final table,” Daniel Negreanu, a member of the Players Advisory Council, said.
”You’re going to see some really kind of more sophisticated play. They’re going to watch the ESPN broadcasts and go, ‘Oh, did you notice that? When he does this, he’s bluffing.’ Great players and amateurs alike will have an opportunity to really devise schemes and plans for how they’re going to play.”
The Players Advisory Council was the one that approved this change in the 2008 WSOP poker tournament.
Instigators of the said change are hoping that the delay will…

They have to, because the last time the Nuggets played in front of their adoring fans at the Pepsi Center, the Blazers simply lit them up.
I guess home teams losing are slowly becoming the trend this 2007-08 NBA basketball season eh? While I probably understand why the Miami Heat loses at home so much, (HINT: Those guys are just pathetic…) I’m just dumbfounded every single time I see the Denver Nuggets lose at home.
Hell, the Denver Nuggets are probably the only ones already used to the thin temperature up there at the Pepsi Center and yet, teams just run them over all game long.
Against the Portland TrailBlazers, all five Nuggets on the floor looked like Paris Hilton because they let everybody SCORE on them.
Brandon Roy had 26 points to lead the Blazers while Channing Frye added 20 as Portland beat Denver, 116-105. It was Portland’s third straight win on the road, their 7th of the season. And after struggling at the beginning of the year on the road, all of a sudden, these Blazers are beginning to like all these travel.
”We don’t feel invincible, we feel comfortable and confident,” Brandon Roy said. ”Winning…”

And not even the return of David Beckham was able to fix it so far.
The disappointment in England football continues as team manager Steve McClaren resumes the national team’s somewhat disappointing international campaign. Jeez… What else is new eh?
The England national team desperately need to improve their performance or their chances of reaching next year’s tournament could fade faster than Paris Hilton’s fabled virginity.
For what it’s worth, team England is in high spirits, sort of, after the return of England’s former captain David Beckham and a standout performance by Liverpool star Steven Gerrard helped England draw 1-1 last Friday against probably the dominant giants of international soccer, Brazil.
England coach Steve McClaren was criticized in England’s last three qualifying matches. That’s a 2-0 loss at Croatia, a 0-0 draw at Israel, and an uninspiring 3-0 win at Andorra. Understandably, he desperately wants a victory.
Many thought Beckham’s return to the England national team WILL BE the answer to the national team’s struggles.
It was a sad day in England when David Beckham uttered these words following England’s loss to Portugal at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. ”It has been…”

Yep, Paris, France will be the mecca of sports once we hit the halfway point of the calendar year.
As ya’ll know by now, the 2007 French Open at Roland Garros begins May 27 up to June 10. The clay court tournament will feature some of the biggest names in tennis like Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, Amelie Mauresmo and Justine Henin.
Of course, Roger Federer will be there and I’m hoping the hot and sexy Maria Sharapova will too.
The annual tournament at Roland Garros is a whole new game with clay court king Rafael Nadal FINALLY beaten on… welll… CLAY…
by none other than Roger Federer. Nadal was beaten by Federer, ending the clay king’s incredible 18-match winning streak on the surface.
But it’s not only the 2007 French Open making a big bang in France. On July 29, the Tour de France careens to a finish on the cobblestones of one of the world’s most famous streets, the Avenue des Champs-Elysees.
Yeah yeah, the overall winner is already decided then but the 20th and final stage of the three-week race still is hotly contested.
On June 2, the Euro 2008 soccer tournament qualifier will take place as France takes on Ukraine at the national stadium. Seats start at 20 Euros and can be purchased online.
If soccer is not your thing then you still have the…
