Can the Nuggets inbound balls over Lakers in Game 4?

By: J.J. Jack

Yep, they really need to do something as simple as inbounding the fucking ball right.

The Denver Nuggets have advanced to the Western Conference Finals of the 2009 NBA Playoffs with a whole lot of momentum, dispatching the Hornets and the Mavericks convincingly to be proclaimed as the team playing the best basketball in the postseason. Despite that, they fell behind to a Lakers team playing nonchalantly the last few weeks.

After three games into the 2009 NBA Western Conference Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers have taken a 2-1 series lead, taking back the homecourt advantage after the Denver Nuggets snatched it away from the Lakers in Game 2.

Carmelo AnthonyPerhaps what’s more daunting if you’re rooting for the Denver Nuggets is the fact that in the two games the Nuggets lost, that being games 1 and 3, they let the Los Angeles Lakers come away with the victory in games they clearly had under control after failing to simply inbound the basketball.

You read it, it seems the Denver Nuggets can’t inbound the basketball, failing to inbound TWICE in the series that equated to two disappointing losses.

You see, in Game 1, Denver’s backup point guard…

The Dream Match: Manchester United V FC Barcelona

By: Seth Edward O'Neal

seth-edward-oneal.jpgBarcelona FC clashing against Manchester United in the final of the UEFA Champions League was something that everyone was dreaming about.

Manchester United advanced to the 2009 UEFA Champions League final in Rome after convincingly beating Arsenal 4-1 on aggregate. The Red Devils had to wait 24 hours after triumphing at the Emirates to know who will be their opponents come May 27 at the Stadio Olimpico.

And with all the controversy one could ever think of, it was revealed to be Pep Guardiola’s Catalan Giants FC Barcelona, after the Blaugrana controversially ousted Guus Hiddink’s Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Cristiano RonaldoBarcelona and Manchester United are two clubs from two different countries with a completely different culture all together. However, history shows that as much as they have dissimilarities, they also have similarities, which give this UEFA Champions League final a real flavor of glamor and style.

This will be a battle between the young and the old, the inexperienced one and the wise one, the great…

Defending Champion Ana Ivanovic survives Day 1 of the 2009 French Open at Roland Garros

By: Syndicate

And I’ve got to tell you, I was more than relieved seeing her go through.

A shaky start. That is exactly how one can describe the way the defending French Open champion, Ana Ivanovic kicked off the 2009 French Open at Roland Garros.

You read it, Ana Ivanovic struggled on the important points in her opening match against Italian Sara Errani before eventually winning the match, 7-6 (3), 6-3 to advance to the second round.

The defending Serbian champion, seeded no.8, converted only five of the 20 break points she earned against Sara Errani. The Italian broke three times and even served for the first set at 5-4.

Ana Ivanovic”I knew I had to work hard for my points today, and I’m very happy I did that,” Ana Ivanovic said after the match. ”And I kept my composure.”

Ivanovic’s right knee may have something to do with the way she struggled in Day 1 of the clay tournament. She pulled out of the Madrid Open with the right knee injury and had it taped last Sunday when she took on Sara Errani of Italy.

Errani did a good job taking advantage of Ivanovic’s injury as she got the defending champion move around the clay surface. Ivanovic finished the match with seven double-faults and six aces. Despite the injury, Ivanovic claims she feels very fit and very ready to defend her title at…

A Cavaliers – Lakers match-up in the 2009 NBA Finals?

By: J.J. Jack

Apparently, Jeff Van Gundy thinks so.

And it doesn’t matter to him if both teams have lost the homecourt edge in their respective conference finals series in the 2009 NBA Playoffs. He believes that the Cavaliers and the Lakers are the two best teams in the NBA today. (Of course, we reckon he’ll have it different if the Rockets were still playing…)

That’s despite the fact that the Cleveland Cavaliers lost the homecourt advantage in the very first game of the Eastern Conference Finals to the Orlando Magic.

You see, the Orlando Magic had no business beating the mighty Cavaliers to start the Eastern Conference Finals after all the problems Dwight Howardthey had with Philly in the first round and coming THAT close to elimination against Boston, TWICE. Still, Van Gundy believes the Cavaliers are still going to the NBA Finals and they’ll be able to overcome Orlando at some point.

As far as the Los Angeles Lakers are concerned, Van Gundy feels that as long as the Lakers have Kobe Bryant leading the way, they shouldn’t have any problems whatsoever returning to the NBA Finals come June.

That’s despite the fact that the Denver Nuggets stole…

The 2009 F1 Monaco Grand Prix is set this Sunday

By: Seth Edward O'Neal

seth-edward-oneal.jpgAnd since this is the most grandiose event in the F1 calendar, let’s hope Monaco will bring back some class to what has been controversial year.

To say that the 2009 F1 season has been a colorful one could be an understatement. From the sport’s world champion, Lewis Hamilton, becoming nothing more but a lying bastard to Ferrari threatening to quit F1 because of their disapproval to this new budget cap FIA boss Max Mosley is trying to enforce, it sure has been an interesting season in Formula One.

Still, amidst all the controversies, the season has to go on and the season will go on with the 2009 F1 Monaco Grand Prix this Sunday. Jenson Button has been running away with the rest of the pack, winning four of the first five races. The only time he didn’t finished first was in China, where he finished third.

Lewis HamiltonYup, Jenson Button has been enjoying this diffuser technology that Ross Brawn has slapped on his car. But can he dominate a track where overtaking is just impossible? Let’s find out.

The annual dash through Monaco’s tortuous streets is a unique test of man and machine performed in front of the glamorous backdrop of the Monaco harbor. The 3.340km (2.075mile) street track requires the cars to run with maximum aerodynamic downforce and the proximity of the barriers makes the 78-lap race one of the most mentally demanding races for the drivers, despite the average lap speed of 160kph (100mph) being the one of the slowest of the year.

In the Monaco Grand Prix, the cars are far wider than…

The Denver Nuggets – Dallas Mavericks face-off is still on, as far as Mark Cuban is concerned

By: Syndicate

It seems Dallas getting booted out of the playoffs hasn’t sink in to Mark Cuban yet.

While the conference finals heat up in the 2009 NBA Playoffs, it seems Mark Cuban hasn’t moved on from the disappointing loss his Mavericks had to endure in their series with the Nuggets.

You see, it all started in Game 3 when the Denver Nuggets barely won 106-105 thanks to a three-pointer from Carmelo Anthony. The Mavericks felt that the three-point shot shouldn’t have been counted since they felt that Antoine Wright already fouled Anthony on the floor even before he went up for the attempt.

Mark CubanAnd while the Dallas Mavericks may have a point, they couldn’t do anything since the refs didn’t make any calls whatsoever. Anthony, not hearing any whistle, continued to play while Wright stood there waiting for the refs to call something, anything. When it was all said and done, Anthony just made a huge three-point play for the Nuggets and the Mavericks fell to the 0-3 hole they’d never recover from.

That’s when this thing between the Nuggets and the Mavericks started, specifically speaking, Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin and Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

After the Mavericks lost Game 3, an irate Mark Cuban made…

Sanchez loves it Doggy Style

By: J.J. Jack

This’ll probably make any Jets center think twice before bending over in front of the former USC quarterback.

While we continue to count the days until the brand new 2009 NFL football season gets here, we got some reports that claim that the former USC quarterback the Jets drafted a few weeks ago loves it doggy style. Yep, THAT and a tattoo that reads ”SANCHEZ” on, get this, at the back of his lower lip.

Yes, you read it, New York Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez felt that the back of his lower lip was the best spot to have a tattoo where ABSOLUTELY no one would be able to see it. Unless of course, Sanchez is hammering you from behind and he lets you inspect his mouth just for curiosity’s sake.

Mark SanchezAs it turns out, that’s exactly what happened. A couple of years ago, when Mark Sanchez was still gunning footballs in USC, an anonymous female fan was allegedly dog-styled in the shower by the USC standout. During what probably was a vigorous sex marathon, the woman managed to inspect the inside of his lower lip, and, lo and behold, she found the now infamous ”SANCHEZ” tattoo.

Now, I don’t know why Mark Sanchez decided to have a tattoo in there but here’s to hoping that the guy will improve his decision making when he takes the field this season with the New York Jets.

After all, he is filling in the shoes of…

Ferrari quitting at the end of the 2009 F1 Season?

By: Seth Edward O'Neal

seth-edward-oneal.jpgLooks like the Italians were dead serious of quitting Formula One.

If you haven’t heard of it yet, the FIA proposed a budget cap this 2009 F1 season that will limit some wealthier teams from spending their somewhat limitless resources just to stay ahead of everybody else.

Yup, FIA president Max Mosley felt it was unfair for competition that rich teams like Ferrari can spend as much as they want to spend just to get that advantage from the rest of the field. Putting a budget ceiling will limit it and as expected, Ferrari do not like it one bit.

FerrariNow I don’t know what’s more frustrating for Ferrari, spend all that money this season only to play second fiddle to the likes of Brawn GP, Red Bull and Toyota or being refrained from spending said money next season to guarantee themselves that they’d still be playing second fiddle to the likes of Brawn GP, Red Bull and Toyota.

And when Ferrari heard Max Mosley say that F1 can survive without Ferrari, things have really gone from bad to worse.

In a short statement released by Ferrari, arguably the sport’s most famous entity, they will not be on the grid in 2010. ”We confirm our opposition to the new technical regulations adopted by the FIA and do not intend entering our cars in the 2010 F1 Championship,” the statement read.

A report from Ferrari’s board meeting reads…

Is Renault serious of following Ferrari and quit F1 too once the 2009 F1 Season is over?

By: Syndicate

The FIA is on the verge of losing two of their top draws in Formula One.

We’re not even halfway into the 2009 F1 season and yet, many people are already anticipating what’s going to happen once the season is over.

How come? Well, first, the FIA claims they’ll be imposing a £40million budget cap once this season is over. And while that may spark some interest for the sport, the next one certainly will since F1’s top draw, that being Ferrari of course, is threatening to leave the sport once the year comes to a close.

And just when you thought that was bad enough, another one of F1’s premiere teams is threatening to do the same and follow Ferrari’s lead. After Ferrari already made it public that they are clearly against the FIA’s budget ceiling, it looks like Renault is another team that is starting to voice out their displeasure of the FIA’s proposed ruling.

Flavio BriatoreAnd in case you’re wondering, YES, they’re threatening to leave F1 as well.

Renault boss Flavio Briatore said, ”Our aim is to reduce costs while maintaining the high standards that make Formula One one of the most prestigious brands on the market.”

”We want to achieve this in a co-ordinated manner with the regulatory and commercial bodies, and we refuse to accept unilateral governance handed out by the FIA. If the decisions announced by the World Council on the 29th of April 2009 are not revised, we have no choice but to withdraw from the FIA Formula One World Championship at the end of 2009.”

Renault, like Ferrari, have also expressed their…

Will the Magic be Witnesses to LeBron James again?

By: J.J. Jack

Because the last time they were, they ended up doing the impossible, beat the Cavaliers at home.

Yep, the Cleveland Cavaliers suffered their first loss of the 2009 NBA Playoffs, their third one at home all year, when the Orlando Magic rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit to win Game 1, 107-106.

You see, before the Orlando Magic came up with the improbable run, Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy was irate about the fact that his team was content on watching LeBron James slam the ball down the hoop. He even used one of LeBron’s marketing tools on his team, calling the Magic nothing more but WITNESSES.

LeBron James vs Dwight HowardWell, whatever Stan Van Gundy was trying to accomplish with it worked and they ended up having the early 1-0 lead in the 2009 NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Just a few weeks ago, this Magic team was struggling against Philly in the first round and just a few days ago, they had to beat Boston TWICE just to avoid elimination. Who would’ve thought that the Magic will be taking it to the mighty Cavaliers this early into the Conference Finals?

Orlando’s win in Game 1 was huge considering that the Cleveland Cavaliers have been dominating people in the first two rounds of the playoffs. The Cavaliers swept the Atlanta Hawks after sweeping the Detroit Pistons to kick off their postseason campaign. Nobody anticipated the Cavs to encounter road blocks as early as the first game of the series, and nobody fathomed that…
